Trotters, a distinguished British children’s wear brand, partnered with Web Design & Development agency Kitty to modernise and enhance their website, aiming to reflect the brand’s premium identity and rich heritage while providing a seamless, engaging digital experience.
The project focused on updating key pages, including the homepage, product listing and detail pages, navigation, and basket, to deliver a modern, intuitive, and cohesive experience across the site.
Prior to the project, Trotters’ website struggled to communicate the prestige and craftsmanship behind its products. Outdated design, inconsistent colour palettes, typography and layouts created a fragmented user journey that did not reflect the high-end nature of the brand. Working within Shopify’s predesigned templates and technical limitations, Kitty elevated the design to highlight the brand’s heritage while ensuring compatibility with the platform and synergy with existing pages.
The project began with a discovery phase, to review existing design elements, brand guidelines, and imagery, ensuring that the new designs were aligned with the brand’s values and storytelling.
Development was completed in a staging environment for the UK site and replicated for the US site, enabling Trotters to manage and tailor content for each market.
A key innovation was the integration of accurate analytics. Previously, Trotters relied on both Shopify and Google Analytics, which often produced conflicting data. Partnering with sister agency ROAST Analytics, Kitty implemented data layer tracking to provide consistent insights, allowing for precise reporting, lower CPAs, and value-based bidding. A cohesive design language and style guide were also established, enabling the Trotters team to maintain brand consistency across the site.
The results deliver a premium, intuitive user experience that reflects Trotters’ heritage, supports informed purchasing, and provides a robust foundation for future growth.
