The official website of the President of Iceland was redesigned and developed by Júní to bring the digital presence of a national institution into a more modern, accessible, and narrative-driven form.
The project reimagines communication in the digital age, balancing institutional dignity with clarity, openness, and human-centered design. Rather than viewing the website as a static information archive, it becomes a living platform for storytelling, public communication, and civic engagement.
The new experience simplifies complex institutional content through a clear information architecture and structured narrative flow. It guides users through the role of the Presidency, its history, and its contemporary voice, while making it easy to access news, speeches, visits, and official updates.
A strong focus was placed on accessibility and clarity, ensuring that content is understandable for both local and international audiences, including younger users. At the same time, the design preserves the formality and respect required of a head-of-state institution.
The platform is built to support modern communication formats, including video, live content, podcasts, and social media integration. This enables the Presidency to communicate across channels in real time, extending its reach beyond the website itself.
Operationally, the system was designed for efficiency, with a streamlined content management workflow that reduces complexity and supports fast, consistent publishing.
Ultimately, the project transforms The Presidency of Iceland into a clearer, more open, and more human digital presence — one that strengthens trust, improves communication, and reflects the values of a modern democratic institution.
