Midlands Air Ambulance Charity flies three helicopters and a fleet of critical care cars across six counties, reaching a critically ill or injured patient in an average of ten minutes. It has flown more than 80,000 missions since 1991 and is rated outstanding by the Care Quality Commission. It receives no government funding for those missions. Every one is paid for by the public.

That makes the website less a brochure than a mechanism by which a helicopter takes off. Solve rebuilt it from the ground up. A legacy content system that had locked the charity out of its own site was replaced with a platform the in-house team controls outright, so an urgent appeal can go live in minutes.

A sprawling organisation spanning emergency clinical care, community fundraising, a retail network and an accredited training provider was restructured around what supporters actually come to do, with every way of giving gathered into one place and each of the six counties given a home of its own.

The design leads with the people at the heart of it: survivors telling their own stories, and the named pilots and critical care paramedics who reached them. Accessibility was treated as a first principle rather than a checklist, for an audience that includes people recovering from catastrophic injury and families in acute grief.

The build is engineered for the phone on a weak signal, because that is where most donors give. Historic search visibility was carried across the migration intact, so nobody looking for their local air ambulance loses their way to it. The whole site runs on renewable energy.

The site is built and maintained by Solve, a certified B Corporation, as a long-term partnership rather than a handover.
