Revitalizing the Homeless Alliance of WNY’s Website for Greater Impact

The Homeless Alliance of Western New York (HAWNY) needed a website refresh to improve usability and align with its latest branding. With a limited budget, 19 Ideas’ challenge was implementing its strategic vision efficiently while enhancing the site’s functionality and accessibility.

Key Improvements

User-Friendly Navigation – We restructured the site based on HAWNY’s new sitemap, making it easier for service providers, policymakers, and the public to find resources.

Modernized Design – A refreshed look, aligned with HAWNY’s Brand Kit, ensures a professional and cohesive visual identity.

Data Transparency – A new homepage dashboard presents key statistics, offering real-time insights into homelessness data.

Our Approach

We conducted a digital audit to assess the site’s strengths and weaknesses, refined the homepage and key pages, and designed a clear, intuitive user experience. Our team created high-fidelity wireframes, proofed copy for clarity, and built a staging site for client feedback before launch.

Challenges and Solutions

Budget Constraints – We focused on high-impact enhancements, leveraging HAWNY’s existing strategy to maximize efficiency.

Diverse User Needs – A well-organized content structure ensures easy access for service providers, government agencies, and the public.

Data Visualization – By collaborating with HAWNY, we developed an engaging dashboard to simplify complex information.

The result? HAWNY’s website is more accessible, engaging, and informative, which empowers its mission to support the WNY community.
