Elevating user experience for a major regional healthcare organisation.
Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSW PHN) partnered with The Marketing GP to redevelop its public website and create a modern, accessible and user friendly platform that supports communities and healthcare providers across the region. The previous site made it difficult for users to locate services, understand programs or access information relevant to their needs.
The new website introduces a clear and intuitive navigation structure that guides users through community content, professional resources and public health information. A key feature is the Find a Service experience. The interactive map highlights each Local Government Area and selecting a region leads to a prefiltered view of available services. Users can refine results through filters such as distance, service type, area of health, IAR Levels of Care, age and Aboriginal focused programs. Selecting a service opens a clear page outlining who it is for, how to access it, the provider and the region covered.
A core design goal was ensuring users could reach any piece of information within three clicks. The new menu and page structure delivers on this principle and creates a predictable and efficient experience.
Accessibility was a major focus. Through a WCAG 2.1 AA uplift, desktop scores increased from 81 to 97 and mobile scores from 81 to 93. The site also includes an accessibility plugin that allows visitors to adjust text size, spacing and colour settings to suit their needs.
Additional enhancements include advanced filtering for news, events and job opportunities, and structured content areas tailored to clinical and community audiences. The backend is built for scale, enabling WNSW PHN teams to manage and expand content as services evolve.
The result is a clear and modern platform that strengthens public access to health information across Western NSW.
