Webics is a full service web design and digital marketing agency in Nowra, on the South Coast of New South Wales. After eighteen years on WordPress, the agency rebuilt its own site as a static Astro build: 341 pre-rendered pages, no CMS, no framework runtime, and 144KB of JavaScript across the entire site. Lighthouse returns 100 for performance, accessibility and SEO on both mobile and desktop.
The design goes the other way to the agency default. No dark gradient hero, no abstract shapes, no stock photography. It is editorial and light, with the brand’s navy and turquoise used as accents, real photography throughout, and 71 client case studies captured at retina resolution.
The signature interaction turns the brand’s double slash mark into a slipstream that trails the pointer, fading in with pointer speed and sampling the background under the cursor to stay readable on light and dark ground. It never hides the native cursor, because a visitor who has set a large pointer for vision reasons should not lose it to a design flourish.
523 legacy redirects were mapped by hand so eighteen years of rankings and inbound links survived the change of stack. Client logos are trimmed to their ink bounding box and area-equalised rather than height-matched. Google reviews are pulled live from the Places API, so every review on the page can be verified at source.
