Kanopi worked with the UCSF Department of Surgery to reimagine their website, by creating a new modern design and building a new sustainable platform. The Kanopi team performed in-depth research to better understand the previous Department of Surgery website, and also conducted a series of workshops to gain insight into the department.

With a better understanding of the existing site and the department’s goals, Kanopi was able to create a new streamlined sitemap to better drive users to important content. The new site needed to support multiple domains (80+) and a wide variety of content, so new component-driven layouts were created to give the client team maximum flexibility in presenting a wide variety of content.

Kanopi built the new website on Drupal 10, an open source content management system that will ensure the site can scale sustainably and with support from the Drupal community. Additionally the site features integrations with key UCSF systems so it can utilize biography, publication, and condition and procedures content.
