The National Device Bank website bridges Australia’s digital divide by connecting unused devices to those who need them most. Accessibility wasn’t an afterthought—it was the foundation, with full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance built into every design decision.

The UX centres on three distinct audiences: money donors, device donors, and device recipients. The homepage features three prominent, colour-coded call-to-action buttons—Donate Money, Donate a Device, and Access a Device—allowing users to take action within seconds whilst reducing cognitive load.

Design reinforces values of warmth, trust, and hope through soft, rounded shapes that create an approachable aesthetic. The carefully chosen colour palette balances emotional impact with accessibility compliance:

Dark Blue: Trust and stability
Light Blue: Openness and clarity
Yellow: Optimism and hope
Coral: Action and urgency

All colours were tested for WCAG contrast ratios to ensure legibility for visually impaired users.

Imagery balances human connection with practical impact, showing both people and technology to make donations feel relatable and real. SEO-optimised copywriting integrates keywords naturally whilst maintaining accessibility and readability.

Built on a high-performance framework, the site is fast-loading, mobile-responsive, and technically sound. The combination of WCAG compliance, user-focused design, emotionally resonant branding, and strategic SEO has delivered measurable results: improved engagement, increased donations, and stronger search rankings.
