Reimagining the Peace Corps Digital Experience
Following a historic Volunteer shortage post-COVID, the Peace Corps embarked on a transformative digital overhaul of its website to inspire a new generation of changemakers. The redesigned site serves as a dynamic, user-centered hub that elevates storytelling, simplifies navigation, and drives engagement—all while reinforcing the agency’s enduring mission of promoting peace and friendship worldwide.
Through extensive audience research, the new website reimagines the Volunteer experience with an intuitive structure, bold visuals, and interactive tools like the “Find the Right Fit” feature, which helps prospects explore service opportunities. A refreshed blog, immersive photography, and an engaging “Life in the Peace Corps” section further connect users to the organization’s mission and impact.
Built for accessibility and scalability, the platform follows U.S. Web Design System guidelines and Section 508 compliance, ensuring usability for all audiences. The results speak for themselves: engagement time increased by 24%, monthly high-value actions surged by 117%, and Volunteer applications grew by 82%.
By modernizing its digital presence, the Peace Corps successfully reignited interest in service, guiding the next generation toward meaningful global impact.
