SC is the international conference for high performance computing, networking, storage, and analysis. Each year, the Conference General Chair choses a theme that supports their vision for the year’s annual event. SC25‘s theme, HPC Ignites, was supported through design with a unique brand mark depicting an abstract flame. Shades of blues and purples were chosen to evoke the hottest aspect of a flame, and to align with certain colorway vernaculars in the technology sector. The site structure was devised to serve content to a variety of audiences within the HPC community, from seasoned researchers who might submit their work through program calls for participation to students just beginning to build their future in high performance computing. Landing pages for each audience succinctly describe events or opportunities within each section. Content-heavy calls for submissions or applications are housed on interior pages within dropdowns, which were standardized in both structure and content for ease of updating across years and to keep language consistent. Imagery is largely drawn from a vast photo archive of SC attendees in an effort to help conference participants “see themselves” as they engage with the site.
