CIBC Innovation Banking supports the innovation economy across North America and Europe, providing banking and financial services for high-growth startups and their investors. Headquartered in Canada, CIBC Innovation Banking has grown rapidly, especially in the U.S., where the bank’s brand is otherwise relatively unknown. To support this expansion, it needed a complete overhaul and rebuild of its website to improve the brand’s visibility and show its full capabilities as a leading bank in the innovation economy.
The new website rolled out in early 2026 and was an immediate success. Dog and Pony Studios rebuilt the entire website from the ground up, including a custom-built CMS that supported scale. The new site prioritized user journeys, letting visitors identify themselves in the site navigation straight away, access relevant information and see the impact of CIBC Innovation Banking’s work with their peers. Thought leadership pieces, podcasts, videos and press releases were given better visibility to show the breadth and depth of the team’s expertise, and to provide proof of its impact on innovation companies, sponsors and fund clients. Revamped team member bios helped make the brand story relatable and personal. The brand’s key message, “Championing innovators and their investors,” was emphasized across every touchpoint, clearly positioning it as the bank that serves both sides of the innovation economy.
