Wrong Iron Website:
Right on Track

New Orleans has no shortage of bars, but few can match a sprawling outdoor patio, a wall of taps, and a lineup of big screens tucked along the city’s Lafitte Greenway, a converted historic railway line. The venue’s name pays homage to that history: a “wrong iron” is a railway term for a track where traffic runs against the normal flow, a fitting nod to a bar that does things its own way.

The old Wrong Iron on the Greenway website was dated, hard to update, and undersold everything that makes the venue special. Get Online NOLA rebuilt it in the same spirit as the bar itself: fun. Large banner photos of a packed patio, shot by a local photographer, lead into a custom collage of live oak trees, taco plates, crawfish boils, football games, and beer on tap, all wrapped in the venue’s subtle railway branding.

Beyond the look, the new site does real work: a built-in booking engine for event spaces and game day tables, dynamically imported food and drink menus, live social media feeds, and a real-time weather display. Analytics on the old site showed guests mostly hunting for specials and hours, so the redesign shifted focus toward Wrong Iron’s other lucrative offerings (game day tables, private parties, and catering) without burying the basics.

The result: an 11% lift in engagement rate and 22 more seconds of time on site within only two months of launch, proof that visitors are sticking around, and booking, more than ever.
