In order to help prospective members find Medicare plans that align to their specific needs easier, we implemented filter and sort functionality to our Medicare Plan listings. Now while shopping for plans, users can filter by plan features that are most important to them, including: monthly premium cost, plan type, coverage type, and more. Users can also change the sort order of the list of plans so that it is faster for them to find the plans that match their needs.

As part of the filter functionality, we also included links to definitions of each filter type that open in a modal. Insurance is a complex topic and our initial research showed that users were excited about the ability to filter, but not confident in what every filter actually meant. This provides a way to educate users without taking them out of the shopping experience.
