The Texas Real Estate Research Center (TRERC) at Texas A&M University is the largest publicly funded real estate research organization in the U.S., offering in-depth data and analysis on housing, property, and economic trends. With over 40,000 pages of research reports, articles, and datasets, TRERC delivers critical market insights to real estate professionals, policymakers, and the public.
To modernize its outdated SharePoint-based platform, TRERC partnered with Dreamers of Day to create a dynamic, data-driven website that redefined how users access its research. The project involved migrating thousands of data-rich pages to WordPress while preserving metadata, SEO rankings, and historical archives. The new platform offers advanced search capabilities, real-time API integrations, and interactive data visualization tools powered by a robust MySQL database.
Through intuitive navigation and precise search functionality, users can explore TRERC’s vast research library faster and more efficiently. Advanced filters, predictive search suggestions, and contextual content linking ensure that relevant reports and datasets are always within reach.
Data accessibility was enhanced with interactive dashboards that allow users to filter and export custom reports in CSV and Excel formats. Economic indicators, housing trends, and market forecasts are dynamically updated through real-time API integrations, ensuring that users receive the most current insights without manual updates.
Accessibility was a top priority, with the platform meeting WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Features like screen reader support, full keyboard navigation, and adjustable contrast and text settings create a fully inclusive experience.
The TRERC platform is now a scalable, future-ready research hub, setting a new benchmark for data-driven public research websites through advanced technology, accessibility compliance, and a user-focused design.
