The Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council (LADDC) helps people with developmental disabilities live full, independent lives. Its old website did not reflect that mission. It looked like every other government site, rigid, impersonal and easy to overlook. Gatorworks rebuilt the site around accessibility first, as the actual design brief rather than a checkbox.

Every layout, color choice and interaction was tested against real usability standards so the site works for the community it serves. That meant clear navigation, readable typography, strong contrast and content structured for screen readers and assistive technology from day one.

The design also brings in character. Imagery, color and tone reflect the diversity of the people LADDC represents and feel warm and human rather than bureaucratic. The result is a site that matches the council’s mission: approachable, inclusive and built so nobody has to fight the interface to get support.
