Connect provided Homes in Sedgemoor with a standalone website controlled in entirety by Homes in Sedgemoor. We have provided infrastructure (hosting) CMS, content, support, domain name management and training.
Integration to existing systems was included; the customer portal and other financial systems already in place. The site is compatible with mobile devices, PCs and laptops. A Discovery Phase was entered into, led by Connect’s Project Manager and Homes in Sedgemoor’s Website and Communications Coordinator, to create the best design visually, and to agree content. The in depth Discovery gave Connect an understanding of working within the Housing Association and facilitated an exchange of ideas.
The new site is built to be compliant with WCAG2.1 and the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations.
The customer was keen to encourage its own customers to self-serve through the website. Using WordPress, we developed a modern, vibrant website that meets the needs of users in terms of both functionality and accessibility; the site uses the ReachDeck accessibility tool and is fully responsive to mobile devices.
The site features social media integration; events calendar; online forms eg Give a Compliment; an innovative Hide This Page feature for the Domestic Abuse Support section; Job vacancies; web chat; and embedded YouTube video (eg Making your house a home).
Homes in Sedgemoor will be able to easily maintain website content themselves whilst Connect looks after CMS updates and hosting. Homes in Sedgemoor have also taken out a Support and Maintenance contract, giving them access to reduced cost expertise for years to come.
