Burbank may be known as a small suburb of Los Angeles, but it also happens to be the Media Capital of the world. Home to television and animation studios alike, Burbank has a storied history of being the “back lot” of Hollywood, where a lot of the TV and movie magic is created and brought to life. The downtown area of Burbank serves as the playground for this creative community, with restaurants, shops, and a walkable shopping area filled with festivals and events. The city of Burbank teamed up with branding and marketing agency Anyone Collective to give this downtown area a recognizable identity and build a marketing strategy to establish the area as an LA hotspot.
Anyone Collective, whose years of experience in marketing and rebranding the Hollywood Burbank Airport (formerly Bob Hope) jumped at the chance to give the Downtown area the brand refresh it deserved. Starting with their signature deep-dive R&D, Anyone Collective created a new logo, graphic language, and brand guide for Downtown Burbank, that truly set it apart from other nearby hotspots. They used this newly minted design language to create a marketing strategy, complete with print and digital ads, a multi-year social media takeover, a monthly newsletter of local activities, various event marketing materials, a commercial real estate broker strategy, light pole banners, and of course, the Downtown Burbank website, dtnbur.com.
