IPEMA, the International Play Equipment Manufacturers Association, is the certifying body for public playground equipment and surfacing materials across the United States and Canada. When their aging WordPress infrastructure could no longer support the weight of their mission, they turned to Mile6.

We rebuilt their public website and engineered a separate Laravel-based web application to house their certification database, decoupling the colossal database from a system that was never built to maintain it. The result is a platform that now serves 691 member organizations and manages over 33,000 certified products, with the ability to generate compliance certificates on demand.

The new ipema.org reflects the authority of an organization whose seal of approval helps ensure that every child who climbs, swings, or slides on public playground equipment is doing so safely. The technology finally lives up to that responsibility.
